State Electronic Filing Updates
Beginning September 3, 2025, the State of California will update its filing guidelines to expand support for electronic submissions. The revised standards are intended to streamline the claim process, reduce reliance on paper documentation, and provide faster, more secure review. Eligible filings may now be submitted electronically in accordance with the updated procedures.

Now Available: Online Probate Claims
Beginning in 2025, probate-related claims may now be submitted online through MyCaliforniaClaim. This new option provides a secure and efficient method for heirs and estate representatives to file directly, reducing delays associated with paper-based processes. All probate submissions remain subject to statutory documentation requirements and review under California law.

Now Available: Safe Deposit Claims
Claims involving property from safe deposit boxes can now be initiated online through MyCaliforniaClaim. Contents transferred to state custody are held in trust until reviewed and released to verified owners or heirs. Supporting documentation, including proof of entitlement and identification, is required before any items can be returned.
